A lovely little experiment today: can I still do manual focus?
I mean digital cameras like my Nikon D600 don’t really lend themselves to that any more.
You have to focus on the matte screen, and the little arrows and dot are hard to get used to and take your eye off the subject.
However, I can report that I utterly enjoyed the experience !
You take pictures much more deliberately, it gives you time to think more about the composition, about the aperture, about all the details.
It is back to prime lenses and manual focus.
Autofocus zooms are for situations where you have to be fast and can’t compose.
