Visit 2 exhibitions in 1: Junkspace and Embraced by Light at Magnet Galleries
SC G19 Wharf st, The District, Docklands, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, Victoria
open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-4pm. Opening on Friday 13 June at 6.30pm

Junkspace explores the privatisation of public space and the erasure of identity within globalised urban environments. The work highlights how neoliberal architecture fosters commercial, impersonal spaces. The imagery uses dense framing and reflective surfaces to expose dystopian aesthetics. Junkspace questions the illusion of public space in a world increasingly shaped by market-driven design.

Embraced by Light explores the female body in dialogue with light, using satin as medium. Projections—ranging from organic to abstract—interact with the skin, transforming it into a living canvas. Light flows across curves, merging body and environment in a sensual interplay of form and texture. Printed on satin, the images echo the softness of skin, enhancing their tactile quality. This work reclaims the female form as an empowered, expressive presence—both muse and creator in a luminous narrative.
