suburbia is a series of photos that was taken while walking the dog, any day of the week, year in year out. These walks make me look at the most common surroundings, the things that we often don’t see because they are always there. They show how people live, how they like to be seen by people around them – or don’t want to be seen. They show how we are surrounded by greenery and what we do with it.
I decided to work in black and white to emphasize the specialness of our personal surroundings, to bring out the things that are just simply with us without usually being noticed. This is where we live.
